We will be exploring the insights and actions of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a famous Lutheran pastor and theologian, who lost his life in opposing the rise of Nazism in his church and country in the 20th century. His essay On Stupidity records some of the problems which he saw at work in Hitler’s rise to power. In addition, we will turn to Ryan Holiday and the Stoics’ emphasis on stillness as a way of slowing things down, to clarify your thinking, to center your soul and to be steady while the world spins…in times like these.
