Our September 7th service will be a Water Communion. In keeping with this UU tradition, we have everyone bring water from the different places in their lives and pour it into a communal bowl to symbolize our coming together for a new season.
You’re invited to bring water (or we’ll have some available) to share during the ritual. Tell us where it came from, tell us what it means to you, share a brief story about it, or pour it in silence. We will pour water 4 times to symbolize its many meanings.
Yours might be:
- The water of tears, poured out to shed sorrow
- The water of cleansing and renewal, poured out for a new start
- The water of nourishment, poured out to sustain
- The water of change, poured out to shape the world into the beloved community.
