Unless you put up a feeder, you can easily ignore our avian neighbors, and plenty of them are just fine with that. Getting to know birds up close is not easy, and none of them have ever flitted about helping me tidy up the kitchen! How are we supposed to embrace nature if it won’t let us cuddle it? Like most of the universe, birds will disappoint you if you ever ask them to be anything but birds.
