We will soon be holding elections/confirmations for new Board of Trustees members at our annual congregational meeting, postponed to June, 22nd. For years now, we have sought people out and then had them confirmed at this meeting. We would like to embrace our UU values regarding democracy, so we are inviting all members, founders, and freshmen alike to let us know if they would be willing to serve! You can do this before by talking to a board member or emailing board@smuuf.org. We would like to ensure that our Board decisions are being made by a fully representative panel. So, in that spirit, here are the positions open this next year:
- President (Elect) – 3 years
- Treasurer – 3 years (up to)
- Religious Education/Small Groups Director – 1 year
- Member-at-Large – 2 years
If you want (or feel the need) to be a part of this vital team shaping our path forward, please tell a Board member as soon as you can! Even if you have held a position in the past you can put yourself forward again! And remember, the best way to make your voice heard is to be at the table where decisions are made.
If you want to find out more about a position’s duties and responsibilities, below are the descriptions of each or reach out to a Board Member!
