Zipping along the highways, you might catch a blur of blue or pink or orange. The wildflowers are doing their thing this spring – with or without us. One way to interrupt consumerism is to get familiar with that which cannot be bought, cannot be tamed, cannot be forced to bloom against its own nature, and makes friends in low places. Let’s go learn from the wild things!
Rev. Nell Newton completed her ministerial internship at SMUUF in 2015 and has wandered far and wide since then. Most recently she served the church in San Antonio, but is now a free-range preacher. She lives in Austin with her family, three cats, a flock of chickens, and an overgrown garden.
