How do we navigate the plethora of harmful absurdities these days?

It’s so challenging to push back at the overwhelm. Our intention on March 2nd is to steer us toward a sense of resilience, a sense of sanity, by sharing some concrete resources.

Lynn Greene-Rooks is a writer, musician, artist, activist, and advocate for justice, equity, and creative expression. With a career spanning grassroots activism, public safety, and the arts, she is dedicated to using her voice to drive meaningful change.

Lynn has led social justice initiatives as a Senior Field Manager with Ohio Citizen Action and Citizens Campaign for the Environment, a Field Manager for Texas Campaign for the Environment, and an intern with CODEPINK Women for Peace, where she engaged in direct action, voter mobilization, and lobbying for progressive policies.

Her experience organizing political actions, press conferences, and community outreach has solidified her reputation as a passionate advocate for change. Lynn currently serves as Outreach Coordinator on the Executive Board for Alliance at Texas State University. In addition to her activism, Lynn has spent years ensuring community safety, serving in leadership roles in access specialization, organizational security, and risk management at Texas State University, Compass Group, and Omni Hotels & Resorts.

Creativity is central to Lynn’s work. As a musician, writer, and artist, she believes in the power of storytelling and artistic expression as tools for activism. She has used her creative talents as a playwright and performer to amplify marginalized voices, challenge societal norms, and inspire new ways of thinking about justice, equity, and inclusion. Lynn’s unique blend of activism, security leadership, and artistic vision makes her a powerful speaker on the intersections of social justice and creativity. She is passionate about building bridges between like-minded communities, fostering meaningful dialogue, and empowering individuals to make an impact through both advocacy and the arts. Originally from San Diego, Lynn has lived in Dallas, Cleveland, Orlando, and New Orleans and has resided in San Marcos with her family since 2014.
