Thanksliving – Rev. Jaime Bouzard – November 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm

Thanksgiving Day has American and Christian origins, but thanksgiving stems from a universal need to express gratitude and is expressed in some form in every religious tradition. We will explore some of the different ways thanksgiving is manifested across traditions and how thanksgiving may be among the most important of spiritual practices.

James “Jaime” Bouzard is beginning his 18th year as director of Christ Chapel, the Lutheran campus ministry at Texas State, soon to be a member of the United Campus Ministry. He has served as a parish pastor for 20 years prior to working with college students and is married for the last 44 years to Gayle Gordon Bouzard, who is a month away from retiring as a full professor of instruction in the Department of Sociology. They have one son, Zane, who is a video creator and developer for Alamo Draft House. Besides his work, James enjoys gardening, playing the guitar, opera, boxing, cooking, and reading.
