SMUUF Yard Sale Fundraiser Goals

Our November 9 Fundraiser was a great success thanks to all who donated items, provided snacks and volunteered! It was a gorgeous day and Gayle Gaston’s beautiful front yard and porch were the perfect location. Thank you Gayle for letting us into your space and Lee Bricker for allowing us the use of her garage for storage leading up to the day of the sale.

Our goal was $1,000 but we collected a little over $1,200 where a few choice items were in the $10-$30 range, but the vast majority of things were priced for $2-$5, which meant great buys for all our shoppers. Household and personal items like shoes and clothing that did not sell were donated to Goodwill and unsold books were donated to the SM Library.

It would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of Romelia Escamilla and Willow, who coordinated the event and priced items, and Jeannie Lewis who coordinated the refreshment team providing delicious snacks for the volunteers. They were Carol Horton, Robyn Kendrick, Lou Stein, Karen Timme, Judy Telford, Ross Jones, Cody Cox, Kate Clayton, Judy Telford, Jon Cradit, Gayle and Willow, who provided the big birthday cake to help celebrate Jeannie’s birthday! The bonus was that all the left-overs were taken to church the next day to share with the congregation during Coffee Hour!

Dana Yarger, Christine Brockman, Lewis Bowden, Karl Brown, and David Helber were invaluable in helping drive the truck, load and unload the boxes of items, and oversee the sale throughout the day. Others who donated items and/or helped were Priscilla Leder, Barbara Jacobson, Shannon FitzPatrick, Teresa Russett, Dan Gibson, Alex Thompson, Carmen Rumbaut, Sam Casertano, Karen Brown, Erika Nielsen, Michael Hannon, Jeffrey Latimer, Carol, Todd, Gayle, Judy, Willow, Romelia and Jeannie. Hoping no one was overlooked, thanks so much to everyone!
