Welcome to the San Marcos Unitarian Universalist Fellowship!

Food Healers Served at Southside on Oct. 14; next opportunity is Nov. 11

On the second Monday of each month from 4:00-5:00pm, SMUUF Food Healers serve fruit and a main dish, using a recipe from the Universal Meals program, to people who are food-insecure.  Universal Meals recipes avoid the top nine food allergens in the US.  We have fun and are grateful to be able to provide this nourishing food. In October, we served Chickpea Salad sandwiches; in November, we’ll be serving Unity Stew. Links to the recipes for each are included on the Signup Genius page.

We receive many favorable comments each time we go and we enjoy interacting with the Southside patrons. This week, one man described us as “sandwich artisans” and said he appreciated our “service, dedication and volunteerism.” Another said he was very appreciative that we provided vegan meals because he and his wife are vegetarians and sometimes find it difficult to locate food they can eat.

Come join us at the Southside Community Center in San Marcos and help the community as well.
