Information for Voting and the Annual Congregational Meeting on May 26th

SMUUF will hold the Annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM (immediately following service), in the Sanctuary of the First Christian Church (FCC). Please use the button below to fill out the Ballot before 1:00 pm on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 or attend in person or on zoom to be counted!

Only members (people who have signed the book) may vote. Please check the box on the form to certify that you are a member. We will not accept responses without a name (names will be kept anonymous in any public postings), we will compare to the book. You may vote in one of three ways:

  1. Use this form and submit your vote before May 26 at 1:00 pm.
  2. If attending by zoom, enter your votes in the “chat”; or
  3. Vote in person during the meeting.

We have circulated background information about each item through announcements and open discussion meetings. We held a special meeting on Sunday, May 19, 2024, after the service, in the Fellowship Hall to answer any remaining questions you may have about items on the ballot. Based on this discussion, the Board of Trustees voted to put forth a modified ballot. If you have already submitted your vote by emailing the previous form to admin@smuuf.org, we will count every item except for #3 on it. We will not be taking a vote for the line item for accepting Habitat for Humanity’s offer for the SMUUF property on Craddock at this particular time.

We will have a tally at the meeting and make the official announcement at that time which will also be posted on the website and the Friday Flash within the following week. Below is the official modified ballot.
#1 – Replace the first service of every month with a Voices at the Table (VATT) event.
#2 – Hire a part-time (approximately 15 hours per week) administrative assistant in Summer of 2024 to facilitate communication among committees and with the Board of Trustees and congregation, to maintain the website and social media, and to perform other administrative support duties as needed.
